Marketing, menu items lift McDonald's global sales 2.6%

McDonald's global stores open more than 13 months reported sales up 2.6% in May on the strength of new menu and dollar-menu items and aggressive marketing, beating analyst expectations. U.S. same-store sales were up 2.4%, as items such as the egg-white breakfast sandwich and chicken options like Premium McWraps proved popular.
