N.Y. City Council sets date for hearing on dispatch system problems

Responding to several technical failures and a four-minute delay in sending an ambulance to help a girl hit by a car, the New York City Council will hold a hearing on glitches with the new dispatch system for the city's 9-1-1 emergency service. Council Speaker Christine Quinn and other candidates for the mayor's post said they want to find out whether the system, which has suffered many problems in the past, is working properly.
