Saving diabetic feet with amniotic fluid

Dr. Richard Jacoby, medical director at the Scottsdale Neuropathy Institute in Arizona, is using amniotic fluid from pregnant women to help stimulate the healing of persistent foot wounds in type 2 diabetes patients. Jacoby injects or wraps the fluid, acquired from an FDA-approved lab, around the nerve area during decompression surgery. "I've done 16 nerves with this technique and all of them have restored their sensation," he said.
