More companies skip advertisements for job openings

More than 80% of job openings are not advertised, says Howard Poplinger, who owns Epic Development and Evaluation, a human resources firm. Companies are bypassing advertisements and online job sites to hire directly in a market flooded with applicants. "Businesses go to employees first and ask if they know anybody," Poplinger said.
