The Senate has approved a farm bill that would trim the food stamp budget and require farmers earning more than $750,000 annually to pay more for taxpayer-subsidized crop insurance. The bill heads to the House, which failed to approve farm legislation last year, leaving a 2008 measure in place through Sept. 30.
