Ontario proposes shifting recycling costs to companies, off consumers

Canada's Ontario province is proposing an end to consumer fees related to recycling and the creation of a single entity to oversee recycling rather than the existing three, industry-run entities. "The primary goal of our proposed legislation is to recycle much more of the 12 million tonnes of waste we produce in this province each year," said Environment Minister Jim Bradley.
