Researcher uses practice ACT to target reading interventions in Ohio school

Tallmadge High School in Ohio partnered with an education researcher to use results of a test that students took in the fall -- the mock ACT -- to determine which students needed reading interventions before state exams in the spring. The data revealed that 58 students were at risk for failing state graduation tests, said researcher Matt Deevers, who plans to do the same process with math scores and spread the program to other Summit County schools.
