Wireless networks will help enable same-day package delivery

Tracking packages by 3G and 4G wireless networks as well as GPS and RFID systems are key elements in meeting client demands for same-day package delivery, says a survey of 375 transport and logistics executives in six countries, including the U.S. The managers said wireless automation could cut delivery time by an average of 30%, according to the report commissioned by Intermec, a maker of handheld devices and software.
