HHS "tiger team" to address patient health data privacy issues

HHS has created a "tiger team," composed of Health IT Policy Committee and Standards Committee members, to tackle privacy issues relating to patient health data exchanges. At its first meeting, the team explored issues such as whether to allow health information services providers to access patient records routed across their networks. The team will continue to discuss the issues at its next hearing.
