Ariz. teachers spend the summer getting ready for the common core

The Peoria Unified School District in Arizona is holding workshops this summer, including select teachers tasked with helping to develop lesson plans that coincide with the Common Core State Standards. Teachers in the Deer Valley Unified School District got a jump on common core preparations by starting curriculum development in May.
