CMS releases $520M in eRx, PQRS incentives

CMS paid incentives totaling more than $520 million to participants in the Physician Quality Reporting System and the Electronic Prescribing Incentive Program in 2011, according to a report released by the agency. The report also indicated that 280,229 eligible professionals participated in the PQRS initiative individually in 2011, while 282,382 professionals took part in the e-prescribing incentive program that year.
