Hospitals ramp up efforts to reduce noise levels

Hospitals are forming quiet teams, putting out Do Not Disturb signs, offering patients "Quiet Kits," installing white noise machines and replacing paging systems in efforts to reduce noise levels. The effort has gained urgency since Medicare has begun using patient satisfaction scores as part of payment formulas.
