Elite traders pay extra to receive potentially market-moving data from Thomson Reuters ahead of distribution to investors and the general public, CNBC reported. The firm offers an "exclusive 2-second advanced feed of results" of nongovernmental reports designed for high-frequency trading. Although unknown to many investors, the practice is commonplace and legal.
