Think tank questions rigor of Next Generation Science Standards

The Next Generation Science Standards released in April received only an average grade from the Thomas B. Fordham Institute in a recent report. Reviewers pointed out that the new standards do not go far enough in establishing core content knowledge. The report suggests that states considering new standards review those being used by schools in Washington, D.C., and South Carolina.
