Tobacco ads may encourage teens to smoke, study says

Teens were 38% more likely to become regular smokers, and 30% more likely to become daily smokers, for each additional 10 tobacco advertisements they viewed, German researchers wrote in the journal BMJ Open. The study also found teens who saw the most tobacco advertising were about twice as likely to become smokers as teens who saw the least amount of tobacco advertising.
