Dell founder and CEO Michael Dell says his company is doing fine, but some former executives and employees say he's too risk-averse and is not positioning the company for growth. Dell missed the rise of smartphones and tablets, and it invests a small fraction of what his rivals do in R&D. "[O]ne has to wonder if the CEO has the right plan for doing battle long term with the big boys of tech," writes Katie Benner.
