Google to discontinue support for Chrome Frame

Google will drop its Chrome Frame plug-in at the beginning of next year due to the declining use of legacy browsers including Internet Explorer 6, the company announced. The open-source plug-in, which debuted in 2009, gave Web developers a way to maintain the compatibility of legacy IE applications with Google's browser. Legacy browser support will still be available through an add-on for Chrome for Business.
