Human Frontier Science Program grants to be funded through 2016

The 14 member countries of the Human Frontier Science Program have agreed to continue funding grants for transcontinental life sciences research through 2016. They will boost their contributions to make up for Japan's cuts to the program. Of the program's $57 million budget for 2014, Japan will contribute $22.2 million, down from $29.5 million it initially agreed to spend.
