IT hiring can benefit from tech-savvy HR resources

It can be tough to find IT talent, and the task is often made harder when human resources personnel aren't knowledgeable about specific tech skills and experience needed, Mary Pratt writes. Some companies are opting to bring on IT-acquisition specialists, because the cost of a bad hire can be upward of $50,000, a CareerBuilder survey indicates. "I understand the needs of the people in my network, and I understand the needs of IT because I support only IT, so I can make the best match for both," says Julie Magliozzi, an IT-talent-acquisition specialist at Philips.
