Nearly half of practices have fully implemented EHR system

A Physicians Practice survey revealed 45.3% of responding doctors said their practices have a fully implemented electronic health record system, while 17.3% used a hospital or corporate parent EHR and 13.8% had partially implemented systems. However, only 57% of EHR users said the system helped boost their efficiency, while only 43% reported attaining return on investment for the technology, data showed. EHR adoption and implementation and related costs were seen as the most pressing information technology problems among practices.
