Peace deal with Taliban is needed in Afghanistan, Dunford says

Gen. Joseph Dunford, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, said this week that his focus for the next 18 months will be on forging a peace deal involving the Taliban. Such a deal is considered essential for maintaining stability in the region after the U.S. withdraws in 2014.
