A number of hotel executives at the New York University International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference last week said there appear to be more opportunities for transactions than mergers in the current lodging environment. "There's really a fairly broad offering. To consolidate eliminates some of the value propositions of the individual companies," said Dan Hansen, president, CEO and director of Summit Hotel Properties. The hotel executives said that the recovering debt environment has allowed more prospective buyers to enter the marketplace.
