Women accounted for 33.4% of the lawyers at the country's largest law firms in 2012; that's up slightly from 2011, when 33% were women, according to a survey by The National Law Journal. Likewise, the percentage of equity partners who were women increased by a small margin, from 15.3% in 2011 to 15.9% last year. Women made the most progress as nonequity partners. They accounted for 25.8% of the nonequity partners in 2012, which is up from 24.7% the year before.
