Grocery store accuses Wal-Mart of price data theft

The manager of the Super H grocery store in Skiatook, Okla., said a Wal-Mart employee "wearing a blue smock and name tag," entered his store with a hand-held scanner and began scanning bar codes. Super H confiscated the scanner and turned it over to police. A Wal-Mart statement about the incident said "It is not uncommon for retailers, including Wal-Mart, to [check] prices of comparable items at other retailers in town."
