Gossip may lead to longer, healthier lives

Research at the University of Michigan indicates women who gossip may be happier and healthier because it produces a hormone that reduces anxiety and stress. "We know that people who are in close relationships live longer and are healthier than those who are socially isolated," said chief researcher Stephanie Brown. Progesterone may be a "feel-good" chemical agent that extends lives, she said.
