Invenergy applies for permit to build wind turbines in Ill. county

Invenergy has filed an application to install more than 100 wind turbines in Vermilion County, Ill., according to County Board Chairman Jim McMahon. The company is planning to submit a separate application in neighboring Champaign County, Ill., for another 30 turbines, a spokesman said. If built, the wind farm would be Invenergy's second-biggest in the country.
