Increasing risk appetite prompts outflow of Treasuries

In April, investors worldwide ditched U.S. assets, particularly Treasury bills and other short-term securities. The outflow indicates investors' increasing risk appetite. "With the global economy pulling back from the perceived precipice in early 2009 ... the April Treasury [Treasury International Capital] report for the most part reflects these rapid changes in investor preferences," said Brian Bethune of IHS Global Insight.
