Olive oil linked to reduced stroke risk

A study examining the connection between olive oil and stroke risk found that older people who regularly use olive oil were 41% less likely to have strokes. The lead author said the oil's properties could explain the result, but "it may be a substitution effect," meaning those who consumed more olive oil ingested smaller amounts of saturated fats.
