Light, modular nuclear reactors get U.S. support

A modular, advanced light water nuclear reactor system that operates for four years on one fueling is getting support from the U.S. Department of Energy in a drive to commercialize such systems, according to this article. The design is from the Babcock & Wilcox subsidiary mPower. A single module generates 180 megawatts, and several modules can be deployed in a single facility.
