DuPont sues over biotech seed trait

DuPont filed a countersuit against Monsanto, challenging the validity of its patents for a herbicide-tolerant seed trait and claiming that it restricts competition through its strict licensing deals. Monsanto earlier sued DuPont for allegedly breaching a 2002 licensing deal by combining the biotech trait with Monsanto's Roundup Ready trait.
