Collaborative taps into EMRs to boost clinical research

The Partnership to Advance Clinical electronic Research, composed of academic medical centers, drugmakers and other health care institutions, plans to leverage electronic medical records to aid in clinical trial recruitment. "We'll be exploring how EMRs are used today to understand how, with patient consent, we can use them to enhance clinical research," an academic hospital official said of the new project.
