S.D. study develops economic model for integrated farming system

Researchers from South Dakota State University said a system that integrates corn, ethanol and livestock production could provide economic opportunities for farmers. The researchers, using regional data, found that corn farmers in South Dakota and nearby states could produce 383 gallons of ethanol per acre and 760 pounds of beef through an integrated farming system.
