Report: EU pesticide ban could reduce rapeseed yields

The European Commission's decision to restrict the use of three nicotinoid pesticides is expected to have a big impact on rapeseed, according to a report by the Homegrown Cereals Authority. Losses could amount to $112 million. "Alternative chemical control options are available in most situations but there is a risk of resistance developing to some of the alternatives," said Caroline Nicholls of the HGCA.
