Senate braces for deluge of immigration reform amendments

The Senate is preparing to debate more than 100 immigration reform amendments and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., warned the process could include weekend votes to secure passage of the bill before the July 4 recess. Proposed amendments to the bill include tougher border security, same-sex couples, English language requirements and welfare benefits eligibility.
