Study links combined HCV/HBV with worse outcomes than HCV alone

An observational study found people with chronic hepatitis C and unidentified hepatitis B had a higher risk of developing cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma than patients who had HCV without comorbidities. Italian researchers said patients with HCV and HBV also had worse survival than patients with only HCV.
