Study: Prostate patients who ate vegetable fat reduced risk of death

Prostate cancer patients who replaced 10% of their daily carbohydrate calories with nuts, olive oil and other vegetable fats slashed their chance of dying from the disease within eight years by 29%, according to a study published in JAMA Internal Medicine. The men also decreased their chances of dying from other causes by 26%, while those who ate an extra one-ounce serving of nuts daily saw their chance of death from any cause decrease by 11%, according to the study.
