CIO of Maine acute-care facility on doctor involvement in HIT adoption

Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick, Maine, was able to meet HIMSS Analytics' requirements for stage 6 health IT implementation by securing the early involvement of its clinicians, CIO Bill McQuaid said. Medical staff at Parkview, a 55-bed facility focused on acute care, became willing adopters after experiencing how such technology made it easier for them to access patient information, McQuaid said.
