Following violent clashes, suicide bombing kills Somali security minister

A suicide bomb north of Mogadishu, Somalia, killed at least 20 people, including Somalia's security minister, a serious blow to the weak transitional government in the country. The suicide bomb followed a day of heavy fighting in which government forces clashed with Islamist insurgents, leaving another 12 dead. The bombing and recent clashes have killed 50 in and around the capital.
