High tech is the theme at San Jose's renovated airport

Mineta San Jose International Airport is putting the finishing touches on a billion-dollar high-tech upgrade befitting its status as the gateway to Silicon Valley. "We consider this the most technically advanced airport in the United States," says airport spokesman David Vossbrink, noting the facility's solar power, always-on WiFi and digital paging system. Security is likewise state-of-the-art, including the most advanced baggage screening system in the U.S. and full-body scanners installed at every security checkpoint.
