Apple floods China with cheaper iPhones to fight Android

Apple is making an aggressive pitch for its older iPhone 4 model in China, according to IDC. The research firm notes that Apple has more than doubled shipments to China of the 8 gigabyte version in the first quarter compared to the previous period, but its 9% market share lags behind Samsung Electronics' leading 19% share. Android devices priced at $200 or less currently dominate China's smartphone market.
