Boston Children's Hospital ramps up hand transplant program

Boston Children's Hospital will begin offering hand transplants to children born without hands, who have lost hands in accidents or who have had their hands amputated. Children regrow nerves more quickly than adults and have more problems with prosthetic hands, and thus may benefit from transplantation more than adults, says Dr. Amir Taghinia, who will lead the program.
