Cape Wind gets $200M boost from Danish pension fund

Danish pension fund PensionDanmark announced that it is investing $200 million in the proposed Cape Wind offshore wind farm in Massachusetts' Nantucket Sound. PensionDanmark's investment, which will be issued as a mezzanine loan, is an "important milestone" for the 468-megawatt project, said Jim Gordon, founder and owner of Cape Wind's parent company, Energy Management. The investment is "a significant expression of confidence about the merits and soundness of our project," said Cape Wind spokesman Mark Rodgers.
