G-8 countries endorse automatic exchange of tax information

Leaders of the G-8 countries declared this week that tax authorities across the world should automatically share information "to fight the scourge of tax evasion," and they agreed to eight steps to improve tax transparency. The countries will publish action plans that include central registries for companies to disclose their ownership information.
