More young adults in U.S. have health insurance coverage

A CDC report released on Tuesday showed a substantial drop in the number of 19- to 25-year-olds who lacked health insurance, from more than 35% in 2010 to 27% in 2012. An Affordable Care Act provision that allows young adults to be included on their parents' health insurance plans up to age 26 appears to be behind the decline, health policy experts said. Overall, 14.7% of the population was uninsured, including 4.9 million children.
