Sinclair may bid on spectrum, will buy Dielectric

Sinclair would consider bidding on reclaimed broadcast spectrum to be used for wireless services if the Federal Communications Commission would set aside half of the amount available for higher-power wireless licenses, according to a filing with the agency. Sinclair also criticized the FCC's variable band repacking plan, saying it would lead to "unpredictable and undesired interference environments," among other negative consequences. Separately, Sinclair has announced it is buying antenna-maker Dielectric, which was scheduled to shut down later this month.
