Starbucks to add calorie counts to its menus nationwide

Starbucks will post calorie counts for its coffee drinks, pastries and other snacks at all of its U.S. cafes starting next week. The move follows a similar decision by Panera Bread, and comes in advance of Food and Drug Administration rules that may require all chains with 20 or more locations post calorie counts and other nutritional information by the end of the year.
