Ore. measure to ban flame-retardant chemical is closer to becoming law

Oregon's House has approved a measure to add the flame-retardant chemical decabrominated diphenyl ether to a list of substances considered to be hazardous and therefore banned in the state. The vote represented the last legislative hurdle for the measure, and the governor is expected to sign it into law.
