Bill seeks new board to manage ineligibility of suspended, debarred federal contractors

A House bill that would discontinue suspension and debarment offices for individual government agencies in favor of a single Board of Civilian Suspension and Debarment appears closer to being introduced. The board would work with the 27-year-old Interagency Suspension and Debarment Committee to maintain accurate databases of companies ineligible for government contracts because of violations or because their contracts were terminated for default or cause. "Across the government, the processes, procedures, standards of review, remedies, and tools must be consistent and transparent," said a former administrator at the Office of Management and Budget.
