Ga. district looks to expand summer-meal service

The Cherokee County School District in Georgia is seeking to expand its summer-meal program in order to provide food for more students who otherwise may go without. This year, the district's Seamless Summer Feeding Program is expected to serve about 67,000 children at eight locations. "Our main goal is to feed children, whether it is during the school year or during the summer," said Susan Turner, school nutrition supervisor.
