Insurer, provider collaborate to reduce costs, boost care quality

A partnership has been formed between Cigna and Scottsdale Health Partners in Arizona to create a collaborative accountable care program. The initiative is expected to help almost 4,000 Cigna health plan enrollees who are treated by SHP providers. As part of the deal, Cigna will reward SHP for meeting targets that enhance care quality and reduce costs.
